You Are Not Alone: Coping with Grief, Loss and Depression During the Holidays

November 19, 2019 at 7:00 pm

The holidays can be a stressful time of year under usual circumstances. But when you are managing grief or loss or emptiness, holiday memories and traditions can be particularly overwhelming. It can also be challenging to know what to do or say when a friend or family member is struggling to cope with the holidays. Discover strategies from Melissa Kennedy Panto, the Program Director at Jeff’s Place to help you or a loved one recognize that you are not alone.

Melissa received her master’s degree at Lesley University and is a licensed mental health counselor and registered art therapist. She coordinates and implements all programming activities at Jeff’s Place, which provides comprehensive bereavement support services for both children aged 3-19 and their families. She has spent her professional career working with children, teens and adults, both individually and in groups, who have experienced trauma. She uses art as a healing tool for others to explore, express, and empower.
