Letterpress Printing Workshop

May 8, 2020 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Discover a method of printing employed from the middle of the 15th century into the 20th century, and continuing to this day!

During this two-hour, hands-on workshop participants will learn some of the history and technology of printing presses and movable type. Using a plate image from our collection of broadsides, you will create your own announcement. You will learn to use a job stick, hand-set type from a sample collection of metal and wood typefaces, then print a card to take with you and share with everyone. We will supply all the materials needed—you supply the creativity!

Registration is required and space is limited to 15. Online registration available here or by phone at 508.655.0729

This workshop will be taught by Keith Cross, Founder of Milk Row Studio and Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Check out more classes offered by Keith Cross: learningletterpress.com
