Natick’s next celebration of community art – the Smiling Faces Mosaic - will be July 18th at 7 pm on the Court Street side of the Fair & Yeager Insurance Building in Natick Center. We hope you can join us for the dedication!

The Smiling Faces Community Mosaic Project was a collaborative artistic journey between Natick artists Amy Robinson Steinmetz and Carol Krentzman. Carol used Amy’s designs to create a new mosaic design. Then Carol and Amy, and their amazing helpers, worked from June 2018 to May 2019 to fabricate Smiling Faces, which is 12 feet high and 54 inches wide, and now joins the other mosaics on Court Street in Natick Center.

The new mosaic is made up of thousands of pieces of tile made from recycled glass, and over a hundred custom designed fused glass elements. More than 70 volunteers from Natick and surrounding towns worked on the project for more than nine months.

The mosaic project was supported by the Natick Center Cultural District (NCCD), Natick Cultural Council, local businesses and many private donations.

The dedication coincides with ArtWalk 2019 festivities. There will be many artists on the sidewalks and in the storefronts from 5-8pm, as well as live music, activities and merchant specials.

We hope you can join us for the Smiling Faces Mosaic dedication at 7pm!
